Events bolster the business case for Twitter
I recently had a chance to prepare a few tips for would-be business event organizers on the use of Twitter to promote their events. At first, I didn’t appreciate having my long discourse whittled down to just six bullets by the BusinessWeek editors. But here they are, less impaired by brevity than I would have guessed:
1. Create a branded Twitter page for your event.
2. Follow unashamedly.
3. Create a unique “hashtag.”
4. Participate in relevant discussions.
5. Foster virality.
6. Don’t be afraid to ask for the sale.
